The Cooke Foundation believes children deserve to be surrounded by beauty, and that a beautiful environment at school is conducive to learning and encourages respect for one’s school, oneself, and others. A Hawai‘i public or charter school may apply for a Beautification Award in recognition of work done to enhance its campus’ appearance.

The Beautification Awards are given for completed projects. For examples of previous award projects, please see this article about the 2025 Beautification Award recipients. The recipients were: Mountain View Elementary School (Hawaiʻi Island), Innovations Public Charter School (Hawaiʻi Island), and Kalāheo High School (O‘ahu).

In FY2027, each awarded school will receive $10,000 in recognition of their work.

Application Deadline: February 1, 2027, 4:00 pm
Apply through the Hawai‘i Community Foundation Grants Portal.
Decisions will be made by June 2027.
