Kaua‘i Independent Food Bank

For more than 30 years, Kauaʻi Independent Food Bank (KIFB) has stood beside island ʻohana to ensure no one faces hunger alone. Each year, KIFB distributes more than 300,000 pounds of nutritious food, the equivalent of over 250,000 meals, to keiki, families, kūpuna, and individuals across Kaua‘i and Ni‘ihau.

KIFB’s Keiki Café Program provides nutritious snacks to children attending after-school and summer programs across the island. After serving 611 children in 2024, a Cooke Foundation grant allowed KIFB to scale up its services to meet the rise in demand and serve 717 children in 2025, an increase of more than 17%. Many of the families KIFB serves work multiple jobs and still struggle to make ends meet. Every snack KIFB provides, then, is more than food. It is a reminder that their keiki are seen, cared for, and supported by a community that believes in their future.
