Hāna Arts, founded in 1991, provides arts and culture education and events for residents of East Maui. Serving keiki through kūpuna, the organization offers programs in visual arts, performing arts, and cultural education that blend traditional Hawaiian culture with contemporary creative practices. Hāna Arts’ programs foster creativity and connection in one of Hawai‘i’s most rural and isolated communities.

Kaua‘i Independent Food Bank

For more than 30 years, Kauaʻi Independent Food Bank (KIFB) has stood beside island ʻohana to ensure no one faces hunger alone. Each year, KIFB distributes more than 300,000 pounds of nutritious food, the equivalent of over 250,000 meals, to keiki, families, kūpuna, and individuals across Kaua‘i and Ni‘ihau.

Lyman House Memorial Museum

The Lyman House Memorial Museum has been sharing the story of Hawaiʻi and its people since 1931. Visitors can explore the historic Lyman Mission House, built in 1839 and recognized as the oldest frame structure on Hawaiʻi Island, as well as museum exhibits featuring Hawaiʻi’s natural, cultural, and social history. Through guided tours, hands-on workshops, educational programs, special exhibitions, and archival research services, the museum serves as an important community resource for residents and visitors of all ages.

Mālama Pa’akea o Waimalu

Mālama Paʻakea o Waimalu (MPOW) works with community partners to restore and protect the last remaining Royal Fishponds of Puʻuloa, in the area also known as Pearl Harbor. Constructed over 400 years ago, the fishpond complex stretches two miles from Waimalu to Kalauao and is the legacy of Mōʻi Wahine Kalanimanuʻia, the second female ruler of Oahu. MPOW and its partner organizations co-steward sacred sites including Loko Iʻa Pāʻaiau and Loko Iʻa Paʻakea by providing cultural preservation, environmental restoration, education, and community engagement.

2027 Beautification Award Applications Now Open

The Cooke Foundation is pleased to announce open applications for the 2027 Beautification Awards. Public and Charter Schools that have completed a project to increase the beauty of their campus are welcome to apply. Awardees will receive $10,000 in recognition of their work. Application deadline is February 1, 2027, at 4:00 pm.
